Unless you have actually talked to Todd and Jeff about this, it's probably premature at this point.

Not necessarily (although the show certainly wouldn't be the same without them!). The cancellation of the show leaves a void that needs to be filled.
The BEST situation would be if they both would continue in their previous roles on such a show! But there is still a NEED for a show like ISSUES with or without Todd and Jeff.
Besides, it's kind of a chicken/egg proglem -- if there isn't interest and/or we can't raise the financial support, whether or not their interested is kind of a moot point.

To not put too fine a point on it, I talk to Jeff every day. If you haven't talked to him, you don't know the full situation, and you should.
It wouldn't be good if you were working at cross purposes, now would it?

Agreed, and I would hope that if that were the case, someone with more information than I have directly available to me would (politely and respectfully) indicate that the idea posited might pose a hindrance to the overall goal. I'm certainly not married to the idea, but I'd say it's got to be better than people blowing a bunch of money on a demonstration that's not likely to change minds and is likely to cause more division and antagonism within the Synod than already exists.
Whether or not *I* should know the full situation, I'll leave to those who are in it. I do know that the overall situation currently is that there is now a void. If there is not work done to fill it quickly, money will go away, listeners will go away, and the void will be filled (at best) by some neo-evangelical drivel that will continue to poison people's minds and lead them away from the truth.
There is a limited window where the EXISTING infrastructure can be built upon. After that, there will need to be much reinvention of the wheel.
Since my idea and plans are "public," it is quite reasonable that someone close to the situation could review them and simply indicate that it may work at cross purposes with something that is already being engaged upon.
I don't mind having egg on my face by needing to pull back from the initiative and I don't need specific details.
